Review of the WoW Secret Gold Guide by Hayden Hawke
It’s very common for World of Warcraft players,including myself, to have a hard time making gold. The WoW Secret Gold Guide by Hayden Hawke changed this for me and my characters. Since the guide was only recently released, it includes tips and tricks that work with the latest patch changes. Any WoW gold guide comes with it’s share of skepticism from players.
To begin with, each method for making gold in the WoW Secret Gold Guide is well within the Terms of Service for the game. The tips and tricks are nothing that Blizzard would be hunting you down and banning your WoW account if you started using them. There are many guides available (both free and pay) that advocate using shady methods to make gold quickly. Is losing your entire WoW account worth it for some extra gold, even if it’s a few thousand extra? Not for me it isn’t. That’s a big reason I like this guide. Any of the tricks and tips within the 232 pages of the guide can be used over and over again without having to worry about losing my account.
The fact that this guide is useable by players at any level is another big plus. 
Any player at any level can use the WoW Secret Gold Guide to start making gold Many guides require players to be level 50 or above before they can start making serious gold, but not this guide. If you’re just starting out, you can pick up this guide and find a few ways to make some gold while you’re leveling your toon. Now is your level 12 toon going to be making 500 gold an hour right off the bat? Sorry, but no. On the other hand, a low level character can start making enough gold that when they reach level 30 they can get a mount without going broke.
Finally, do the methods work and how easy are they to follow? The WoW Secret Gold Guide is full of gold making methods that not only work, but work efficiently. Whereas other guides suggest having a gold making build, this guide and it’s tips do not make players make that choice. Both goals, leveling and gold making, can be done with a nice all around build. Each gold farming method in the guide is usually accompanied by a very clear map and in-game coordinates.
As an example, one particular technique involves gathering a certain herb and selling it at the auction house. Hayden helpfully provides a map with a path on it to make gathering the herb very easy. Hayden also has charts on roughly how much certain items should sell for in the Auction House. Keeping with the herb example, if you’ve gathered 5 stacks of herbs and the guide says they should sell for around 50 gold each, then you know you’ve got about 250 gold sitting in your bag. Now if the AH has those stacks going for 30 gold each, then you’ve got a decision to make. You can either cash out and get the 150 gold OR you can follow some of the tricks Hayden mentions and make sure you get closer to the 50 gold per stack if not more. Trust me, once you learn to work the AH to your advantage, you’ll get an “AH HA” moment when it comes to making gold in WoW.
Hayden’s information about the auction house as well as other forms of obtaining gold are top notch. Some guides I’ve spent money on have given me a few new ways to farm gold, but not enough to justify what I spent on them. Using Hayden’s WoW Secret Gold guide, I’ve had newfound success in farming gold in Warcraft and I also have a better understanding on how to have some of my alternate characters ready to make gold from the start.
